RETURN OF THE 90 FASHION TRENDS
In 2020, stay-at-home orders allowed us to ditch the office attire and embrace loungewear, athleisure, and pyjamas and ’90s fashion kept comfort first and everything else later that’s why were considered a fashion era. It’s time to open the mom’s and grand-mom’s closets as the 90s fashion trends have returned and that to with a bang.
Denims are the ones to start off with. Denim Jeans are a few pieces that are more or less wardrobe staples for many. 2021 brings us great jeans that are not only stylish, but comfortable as well. We bring to you more about the biggest denim trends for the upcoming year and shop our favourite selects.
Ripped Jeans of the 90s are back as Distressed jeans of the 2021. Rips on the knees or thighs were the stuff of fashion, not a reason for punishment. Cut up those pants that tore and wear them as shorts, probably the best choice for a hot summer. They’re sure to be a staple in 2021 as an of-the-moment way to bring a laid-back quality to any look.
The Dungarees of the 90s are back as Denim overalls. Comfort lovers have got a great opportunity to return to their favourite overalls. By the end of this decade, we’re just going to be completely covered head to toe in denim.
Boot Cut or Straight leg jeans feel undoubtedly classic and with the ’90s boot cut upgrade, they will work seamlessly with any outfit. The best part: they can be easily dressed up or down, and allow for a shoe moment. They look super sleek and pair well with heeled ankle boots.
Baggy Jeans or Loose-fitting jeans have been increasing in popularity over the last few seasons, and those wider-leg cuts will only enter the spotlight in an even greater way in 2021 as a forward denim silhouette. The relaxed, low-slung fit looks ultra-cool and laid-back, especially with a long slouchy hemline that pools around the feet. Style them with sneakers and a graphic tee to fully embrace the skater-kid vibe.
Light Washed washes like black, blue, or gray tend to last longer as trends than denim fits do, but one thing I’ve definitely noticed is an influx of lighter washes. The casual, ’90s-inspired denim is so easy to style but also indicates that colored denim is on the decline.
High Waisted Jeans, those vintage-inspired, high-waisted, straight-leg jeans will still hold strong as one of the denim cuts du jour among the fashion crowd. Modern and sleek.
Distressed denim, scarves, bellbottoms, floral dresses, maxi dresses, flannel shirts, crop tops and corduroy pants are some of the few the ruled the fashion industry in the 90s and believe it or not it’s the most trending today!! We will be discussing the dresses, shoes and other accessories that will trend this year in our upcoming articles. So keep reading….
